Nagaur

Nagaur is a city situated on the highway between Jodhpur and Bikaner. The city is one of the largest tourist destinations in India for its historical importance and its architecture that are depicted from the two great epics of India ‘The Ramayana’ and ‘The Mahabharata’. The city first ruled by Naga Rajput and founded in 4th century BC. Historically the city is very rich and become one of the most tourist visiting places in India. There are numerous forts and monuments that are highly adorable and its architecture are beyond imagination. Some of the most famous attractions are Nagaur Fort, Ahchitragarh Fort and others. During the months of January and February of every year the city is highlighted with the famous festival named Nagaur Cattle Fair and is most popular tourist attraction at Nagaur where you can enjoy Camel races, Horse ride, and so on. This place is a must visit places in India once in a lifetime.

Nagaur Fort

There are two main forts in Nagaur. One is the Ahhichatragarh Fort and other one is Kuchaman fort. The Nagavanshi kings first established the site in the fourth century AD. It possesses several wonderful stories of valour of the former emperors of Rajasthan. It is one of the most famous tourist destinations of Nagaur.

Nagaur Cattle Fair

Th Nagaur Castle Fair is very famous in Rajasthan. In the fairs, performers perform their own tradition way followed by traditional dances and music. The festival held between the months of January to February. It is the second biggest fair in India.

Amar Singh’s Cenotaph

It is another tourist centre that is dedicated and built in the honors of Amar Singh Rathore who was a Rajput affiliated with the royal house of Marwar.

Kaanch ka Mandir

Kaanch ka Mandir is also known as Temple of Mirrors designed with thousands bits of colored glass covering the walls, pillars and ceilings. Kanch Ka Mandir is entirely covered by glass panels and mosaics. The temple has many stories from Jain tradition as Jain festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm in this temple.

    Road - Nagaur is well connected with other major cities. The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation runs deluxe and semi-deluxe buses connecting to nearby cities like Delhi, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer etc. You can also avail buses and private cabs to reach Nagaur.
