Ajmer is a renowned city located in the state of Rajasthan. This is the place where many dynasties came and left behind the ineffaceable marks of their cultures and traditions. It is the one of the fifth largest cities in the state of Rajasthan. Ajmer is an important centre for pilgrimage as many devotees come here to pay homage to the Dargah Sharif, the Shrine of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty of the 12th century. This shrine is considered, today, a second Mecca for the Muslims of South Asia.
The Dargarh attracts lakhs of pilgrims during the Urs, commencing the death anniversary of the Saint. One can enjoy listening to Sufi Quawwali songs that is held on Thursday and Friday.  With this there are other attractions like - Akbar’s Palace and Museum, Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra, Taragarh Fort, Adhai-din-ka-Jhonpra, Lake Foy Sagar, Mayo College etc.

Ajmer Dargah Sharif in Ajmer

Ajmer Dargah Sharif is one of the most sacred places for Muslims devotees. Most of the people from other States and Countries come here to visit the place as it was the last resting place of Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. By birth he was a Persian and breathed his last in Ajmer.  He was a great teacher who tried to spread love, mankind and so on. It is believed that visitors who come here once, their wish comes true.  Great place to visit once in a lifetime.

Akbar’s Palace and Museum in Ajmer

It is one of the oldest palaces date backs to Gupta period. It is a historical places once the home to Emperor Akbar. Now it serves as Government Museum where you can see some breathtaking sculptures that have been sourced from Pushkar, Bharatpur, Arthuna, Adhai-din-ka-jhonpra and Osian. From here you can learn and get knowledge about history. This would be a great place for History Lovers.

Taragarh Fort in Ajmer

Taragarh Fort is also known as ‘Star Fort’. It is located 20kms away from Taragarh Fort. Taragarh Fort was the home of a major princely state at the height of the Rajput glory days. From taragarh Fort you can see the spectacular view point of the whole Ajmer.
Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra in Ajmer

It is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Ajmer. It’s an exquisite piece of architecture, with soaring domes and pillars. It is actually a Masjid built by Qutub-ud-Din-Aibak, who was the first Sultan of Delhi.

Ana Sagar Lake in Ajmer

It is an artificial lake situated in the city of Ajmer. It was built by Anaji Chauhan between1135-1150 AD. Ana Sagar is the jewel of Ajmer and one of the most beautiful artificial lakes in the region. You can enjoy boat ride on the lake.

By Train - Ajmer Junction railway station is located in the city of Ajmer and is connected with all major cities of Rajasthan and other nearby cities outside Rajasthan. The station is well-connected with major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Allahabad, etc.

By Road – Ajmer city is well connected with other major cities. The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation runs deluxe and semi-deluxe buses connecting Ajmer to nearby cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer etc. You can also avail Volvo buses and private cabs to reach Ajmer.
